In 1976, Evapco opened its doors with a mission to provide first-class service and quality products in the commercial and industrial HVAC, among other markets.

The first sales representative for Evapco’s products in North America was WG Dockendorf, a visionary company that three years later, in 1979, saw an opportunity to expand the business by offering not only HVAC equipment but also technical service and support.

WG Dockendorf then opened Factory Authorized Service, the first Mr. Goodtower representative, becoming the only company any customer needed to purchase and properly maintain and repair their HVAC systems.

This and other assertive strategies made WG Dockendorf rapidly achieve the top sales rep position for Evapco in Southern California, a status held for many years to follow.

Fast-forward time, and in 2003, Blair Boyce, Brett Gaviglio & Vince Gomez, all experienced professionals with many years of work in renowned HVAC companies, partnered to explore new possibilities with HVAC integration. They started Vertical systems, a company with the initial purpose to leverage customized client-focused HVAC solutions with an emphasis on emerging oil-free systems.

At that moment, the synergy between Vertical Systems’ innovative approach and WG Dockendorf’s visionary culture was evident, and their similar aspiration propelled them to join forces in that same year. Today, Vertical Systems is a leader in HVAC energy efficiency, helping thousands of clients achieve their goals.
